The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island from The Asylum, released ironically at the same moment as Godzilla King of the Monsters is about an Island called Monster Island. There, a monster could be found, and the Monster Island will be named after him.


Because it is a movie about an asylum it has a budget approximately (other) equivalent to a large family meal. This budget is carefully used. The movie focuses on a few main characters. It keeps all the sequences shot on one set, so it can focus on them individually. While The Asylum may do well with it (but let's not forget that this is the kaiju-genre and well... that's kind of how they work).
